Cabo Rojo
Cabo Rojo is one of the most breathtaking natural areas in the Dominican Republic, located in the Pedernales province. Known for its dramatic red-hued cliffs (“cabo rojo” means “red cape”), crystal-clear waters, and unspoiled beaches, it serves as the main access point to Bahía de las Águilas, often considered the most beautiful beach in the country.
This destination has become a hotspot for eco-tourism and glamping, offering unique stays in places like Eco del Mar and Cueva de las Águilas, where visitors can sleep under the stars, steps away from the Caribbean Sea. Cabo Rojo is also part of the Jaragua National Park, recognized by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and adventure travelers seeking an authentic experience far from mass tourism.
