About Bahía de las Águilas

Bahía de las Águilas is a UNESCO-protected paradise located in Jaragua National Park, Pedernales, in the southwestern Dominican Republic. Known for its endless stretch of pristine white sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters, it is often ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. The bay stretches for 8 kilometers and is completely unspoiled—no hotels, restaurants, or buildings disturb its natural beauty. Accessible mainly by boat or off-road vehicles, Bahía de las Águilas is ideal for those seeking eco-tourism, photography, birdwatching, snorkeling, and total tranquility away from crowds. It forms part of the Jaragua-Bahoruco-Enriquillo Biosphere Reserve, making it a hotspot for biodiversity. Visitors often combine the experience with Cabo Rojo glamping (Eco del Mar or Cueva de las Águilas) before spending a day at the bay.
